Virtual Gurus is heading to the Silicon Valley… again!

It’s official; Virtual Gurus founder Bobbie Racette is representing the company for its Cohort for the Inaugural Women in Tech Silicon Valley Program this week.

The Consulate of Canada in Silicon Valley has selected 10 of Canada’s top young tech companies to participate in its inaugural cohort of the Canadian Women in Tech Silicon Valley program.

The 10 women-led or women-founded companies will participate in an intensive 48 Hour program in the heart of Silicon Valley, Palo Alto, to participate in a program designed to maximize and accelerate efforts to plug into the world’s leading tech ecosystem.

“I’m beyond excited to be a part of this amazing program and I can’t wait to represent Virtual Gurus, the city and the country in Silicon Valley,” Racette said.

“Canada’s hot right now and the Valley has certainly noticed. We’ve hit critical mass, and the quality of our talent and companies sets us apart. But the fight for attention here is immense and even great talent can get lost in the noise. My team and I are excited to welcome this cohort to Northern California and help them get a leg-up in the world’s top tech ecosystem,” Rana Sarkar, Consul General of Canada to Northern California Contacts Palo Alto said in a release.

Programming will include workshops, seminars, panel discussions, a fireside chat with successful founders, a pitch session and business-to-business meetings with Silicon Valley venture capitalists.

The Consulate of Canada in Silicon Valley occupies a unique position in the Canadian tech ecosystem, mandated to support Canadian companies’ efforts to acquire clients, identify partnerships, and raise capital in the California Bay area, and will leverage its relationships to further these objectives.

Companies were chosen for their positive traction, cutting-edge business solutions, and readiness to succeed in the Silicon Valley market; Cohort companies represent the digital, life sciences, and cleantech industries from across Canada.

The other 9 participating companies are:

  • Careteam, Vancouver, BC
  • Mazu, Kelowna, BC
  • Orpyx, Calgary, AB
  • Partnerstack, Toronto, ON
  • Polystyvert, Anjou, QC
  • Qanik DX, Calgary, AB
