Our founder and COO Bobbie Jo Racette is super excited and honoured to be a mentor for the Calgary’s Mayor Youth Council Innovation Challenge – Bobbie will be responsible for helping 3-4 teams create a technological product that addresses a problem Calgary is Facing. The Innovation Challenge (formerly the Calgary High School Hackathon) is a competition for students from grades 8 – 12 that encourages participants to demonstrate their problem-solving skills that incorporate technology. This year our Innovation Challenge is supported by the TELUS Calgary Community Board.
At the event, teams of 3-4 will create websites, apps or business plans to communicate their solution for problems in Calgary that comes under the theme “Support and Connect”. Problems that participants can address may include homelessness, youth employment, active living or others.
With over $1500 in prize money as well as mentorship from the business community in Calgary, this is a must-go event for those who are interested in entrepreneurship, technology and problem-solving. No prior coding experience is necessary.
